OSWEGO, NY—Oswego (7-7/4-3) shot 52-percent from the field, including 64-percent from 3-point range, in a 77-57 victory over visiting Buffalo State (7-7/2-5) in a SUNYAC contest tonight at Max Ziel Gymnasium.
Dee Layne (Brooklyn/East NY Family Academy) continued to display her scoring touch, leading Buffalo State with another career-high 14 points and added a team-high six rebounds and three steals.
Jessica Clark (Fulton/G. Ray Bodley) tallied 13 points, four assists and three steals, and
Staci McElroy (Saratoga Springs/Saratoga Springs) chipped in nine points and four assists.
Buffalo State never led, but stayed in the game in the first half, trailing just 34-30 at the intermission. The Lakers used a 17-3 run in the middle of the second period to pull away, however, and cruised to the 20-point win. All five Oswego starters scored in double-figures. The Bengals shot 40-percent from the field.
Buffalo State will travel to Cortland tomorrow for another SUNYAC game at 2 p.m.
