BUFFALO, NY—Buffalo State (5-3/1-1) won its fourth-straight game, marking its longest winning streak since 2004, defeating visiting Plattsburgh (2-7/0-3), 50-43, in a SUNYAC contest tonight at the Sports Arena.
Freshman
Staci McElroy (Saratoga Springs/Saratoga Springs) recorded her first career double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
Kristin Ritch (Dobbs Ferry/Dobbs Ferry) and
Divine Sebuharara (Vestal/Vestal) each scored nine points, and
Alyssa Kinney (Bellport/Bellport) matched a career-best with 13 rebounds.
Taylor Amarando (Niskayna/Colonie) paced Plattsburgh with 13 points and 14 boards.
After falling behind 12-5 early, Buffalo State held the Cardinals scoreless for a stretch covering more than 12 minutes and closed the opening half with a narrow 22-20 advantage. The lead changed four more times in the final 20 minutes before the Bengals closed out the win. The teams combined to commit 56 turnovers, with 30 by Plattsburgh. The Bengals shot just 26-percent, compared to 30-percent shooting by the Cardinals.
Buffalo State will host Potsdam for another conference game tomorrow at 2 p.m. Plattsburgh will travel to play Fredonia.
