POTSDAM, NY—Potsdam (9-12-2/5-9-1) scored four third-period goals en route to a 6-3 victory over visiting Buffalo State (6-17-1/2-13) in a SUNYAC battle tonight at Maxcy Hall.

Trevor McKinney (Oakwood, ON/Sinclair) led the Bengals with a goal and an assist. Justin Knee (Centralia, ON/S. Huron) and James Durham (Marilla, NY/St. Francis) also scored, and Tyler Soehner (Baden, ON/Waterloo Oxford) picked up two assists.

After a scoreless first period, the Potsdam and Buffalo State traded three goals in the first 3:31 of the second stanza with the host Bears taking a 2-1 lead. Potsdam pushed its lead to 4-1 with a pair of quick goals to open the final period as well. The Bengals cut the lead to 4-2, but Potsdam added two more goals, including an empty-netter, sandwiched around a final Buffalo State goal.

Johnathan Sourwine (Redwood, NY/Alexandria) made 37 saves as Buffalo State was outshot, 43-33.

Buffalo State will play its final game of the season next Friday at home against Morrisville State at 7 p.m.
