BUFFALO, NY— Goaltender Johnathan Sourwine (Redwood/Alexandria) made 28 saves for Buffalo State (6-18-1/2-14) in the season finale but Morrisville State (8-15-0/5-10) scored an empty-netter with seven seconds remaining to clinch a 4-2 win in a SUNYAC game at the Buffalo State Ice Arena this evening.

Morrisville scored two goals in the first period before the Bengals received a tally from senior D'Arcy Thomas (Gatineau, PQ/Philemon Wright) at the 7:54 mark of the second period. The Mustangs would follow with another goal and take a 3-1 lead into the locker room.

Nicholas Petriello (St. Catharines, ON/Holy Cross) scored his team leading 15th goal of the season early in the third, but Buffalo State could not score the equalizer to push the game into overtime. Morrisville held a 32-31 overall shooting advantage.

Tonight marks the final game for Buffalo State seniors Thomas, Sourwine, Connor King (Nashville, TN/Brentwood), Tyler Soehner (Baden, ON/Waterloo Oxford), Shareef Labreche (Markham, ON/Markham District), Mike Luzarraga (Sugarland, TX/Clements), Daniel Carey (Rush/Rush-Henrietta), and Ryan Ramage (Fort Erie, ON/Fort Erie).
