BUFFALO, NY— Ryan Ramage (Fort Erie, ON/Fort Erie) scored with an extra attacker late in the third period but Buffalo State (6-14-1/2-10) could not add another goal as Brockport (12-9/6-6) held on for a 3-2 victory this evening in a SUNYAC game at the Buffalo State Ice Arena.

After a scoreless first period, the second period saw each team put a goal on the board. Brockport opened the scoring and Nicholas Petriello (St. Catharines, ON/Holy Cross) responded for the Bengals as the teams went into the third period deadlocked at 1-1.

The Golden Eagles added two more in the third before Ramage tallied at 18:58 to give Buffalo State a late opportunity to tie the game. Brockport then received a penalty after the goal, giving the Bengals a man-advantage for the final 1:02, but the Bengals could not convert for the equalizer. 

Buffalo State goaltender Johnathan Sourwine (Redwood/Alexandria) made 31 of 34 saves in his second start of the season as the Bengals were outshot 34-17.

The next action for the men's hockey team will be tomorrow evening as the Bengals will host Geneseo at 7 p.m.
