BUFFALO, NY—Junior Nicholas Petriello (St. Catharines, ON/Holy Cross) scored for Buffalo State (6-15-1/2-11) becoming the fifth player in school history to record 100 career points, but Geneseo (10-10-2/6-6-1) skated away with a 2-1 win in a SUNYAC game tonight at the Ice Arena.

Geneseo scored late in the first period and extended its lead to 2-0 with the lone marker of the second period. Petriello got the Bengals back in the game with 4:39 remaining when he ripped a snap shot through the goalie after an end-to-end rush. Joel Sheppard (Pefferlaw, ON/Sutton District) and Ryan Ramage (Ft. Erie, ON/Ft. Erie) were credited with the assists. A late penalty on the Bengals hampered the Bengals' comeback bid as they were unable to tally the equalizer.

Johnathan Sourwine (Redwood, NY/Alexandria) made 29 saves for the Bengals who were outshot 31-23 for the game.

Buffalo State will make the trek to visit nationally No. 5-ranked Plattsburgh next Friday at 7 p.m.
