CLERMONT, Fla.—Buffalo State (4-4) bounced back with a 2-0 win over Manchester (4-5), after dropping a 3-2 decision to Elmhurst (8-4) in this evening's first game at the USA National Training Center.

Buffalo State led 1-0 after three innings in the opening game, but Elmhurst capitalized on two hits and two Bengal errors to score all three of its runs in the fourth inning. The Bengals added a run in the bottom of the fourth, but did not threaten again. Julie Joyce (E. Pembroke/Pembroke) and Niki Rieman (Derby/Lakeshore) combined for Buffalo State's only four hits. Joyce was 2 for 2 with an RBI, and Rieman was 2 for 3 with an RBI. Rieman also took the loss on the mound, allowing eight hits, but no earned run in 5 1/3 innings of work. Jenna Frieling (E. Amherst/Williamsville North) pitched 1 2/3 innings of scoreless relief.

In the late game, Buffalo State made the most of six hits, plating single runs in the third and seventh innings, and riding the arm of Tricia Kennery (Williamsville/Williamsville North) to the shutout win. Kennery scattered four hits and struck out six batters, improving to 3-0 on the season. Sara Morse (Painted Post/Corning West) was 2 for 4 with an RBI and a run scored. Sam Strapason (Williamsville/Williamsville South) was 2 for 3.

Buffalo State will take the field for two more games tomorrow, taking on Oberlin at 11:30 a.m., before meeting Loras (IA) at 1:30 p.m.
