CLERMONT, Fla.—Buffalo State's (6-4) bats finally came to life, producing 25 runs in a pair of victories, clobbering Oberlin (0-10), 19-5 in six innings, and shutting out Loras (5-2), 6-0, today at the USA National Training Center.

Buffalo State converted 17 hits into 19 runs in just six innings of work against Oberlin in this morning's game. Eight Bengals had hits, including Sara Morse (Painted Post/Corning West) who went 3 for 5 with two doubles and three RBIs, and Sam Strapason (Williamsville/Williamsville South) who was 3 for 6 with a double and two RBIs. Kyrstin Lekki (N. Tonawanda/Niagara-Wheatfield) was 3 for 4 with a homerun and three RBIs. Niki Rieman (Derby/Lakeshore) went 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI, and Krista Baker (Dunkirk/Dunkirk) and Breanna Fenski (Cheektowaga/Maryvale) each had two hits. Laken Pogorzelski (Dunkirk/Dunkirk) added a double, an RBI and three runs scored, and Samantha Lafer (Chenango Valley/Chenango Bridge) had a single and a pair of RBIs. Tricia Kennery (Williamsville/Williamsville North) improved to 4-0 in the circle, allowing four hits and two earned runs in four innings. Erin Kowalske (Orchard Park/Orchard Park) tossed two innings of relief, allowing three hits and one run with two strikeouts.

The Bengals added to an early 1-0 lead in the late game with a five-run third to put the game out of reach, and Jenna Frieling (E. Amherst/Williamsville North) cruised on the mound, throwing a complete-game one-hitter with 10 strikeouts. Lekki was 3 for 3 at the plate with a double, a triple and an RBI. Fenski added a triple and an RBI, Lindsay Goff (Patterson/Brewster) was 1 for 3 with two RBIs, and Rieman was 1 for 3 with an RBI.

Buffalo State will conclude its stay in Clermont, Fla. tomorrow with a pair of rematches against Manchester (IN) and Oberlin (OH). Game times have been pushed back to 3 and 5 p.m. to allow time for the rain to move out of the area.
