BALTIMORE—After Buffalo State (4-3) took an early 3-2 lead, No. 14-ranked Williams (3-3) assembled a 11-1 run to cruise to a 13-6 victory on a neutral site today at Goucher's Beldon Field.
Molly Seifritz (Syracuse/Henninger) led Buffalo State with four goals.
Karen Shaddock (Corning/Corning East) added a pair of tallies, and
Kendyl Clarkson (Painted Post/Corning West) had one assist.
Katie Henderson's (Lakeview/Frontier) school-record 38-game goal-scoring streak came to an end.
The Bengals led 2-1 and 3-2 early, but the Ephs bounced back with the final two goals of the first half, and netted the first six markers of the second period. Buffalo State scored twice in the final two minutes of the game after scoring just once in the previous 44:32. Williams outshot the Bengals, 28-15 and held a 13-8 edge in draw controls. Ashley O'Brien (Honeoye Falls/Honeoye Falls-Lima) had five saves in goal for Buffalo State.
Buffalo State will open SUNYAC play next Friday at New Paltz at 4 p.m.
