(GAME 2 BOX SCORE)

ONEONTA, NY—Buffalo State (16-16/7-7) plated a pair of runs in the seventh inning to win today's opener, 4-3, but host Oneonta (15-12/6-4) bounced back with a 10-4 victory in the late game today in a SUNYAC double-dip.

Buffalo State converted three hits into two runs in the top of the seventh in the first game to erase a 3-2 deficit and claim the one-run victory. Sara Morse (Painted Post/Corning West) was 2 for 4 with a seventh-inning RBI. Laken Pogorzelski (Dunkirk/Dunkirk) had an RBI double in the seventh inning, and freshman Sam Strapason (Williamsville/Williamsville South) also had an RBI single. Tricia Kennery (Williamsville/Williamsville North) scattered 12 hits, but allowed just three runs and struck out four in the complete-game win.

Oneonta overpowered the Bengals in the nightcap, jumping out to an 8-1 lead in the third inning and cruised to the 10-4 win. The Red Dragons had 10 hits, including three doubles and two home runs. Buffalo State had eight hits, and Oneonta committed six errors, but the Bengals still could not muster enough run support to match the home-standing squad. Morse led Buffalo State with two doubles and two runs scored. Strapason was also 2 for 4 with two RBIs, and Breanna Fenski (Cheektowaga/Maryvale) had an RBI single. Niki Rieman (Derby/Lakeshore) suffered the loss, giving up nine hits and nine runs (four earned) in four innings of work.

Buffalo State will head to New Paltz for another SUNYAC twin bill tomorrow at 1 p.m.
