BROCKPORT, NY—Buffalo State (9-7/3-1) and Brockport (15-3/3-1) traded 3-0 victories today, with the Bengals riding a no-hitter by Jenna Frieling (E. Amherst/Williamsville North) in the first game, before the homestanding Golden Eagles claimed the late contest.

Frieling had just two walks with five strikeouts, posting her second shutout of the season. Buffalo State took a 1-0 lead in the third inning on an RBI single by Sam Strapason (Williamsville/Williamsville South), and then added insurance with a two-run, pinch-hit double by Niki Rieman (Derby/Lakeshore) in the top of the seventh. The Bengals finished with just five hits for the game.

Brockport reversed its fortunes in the late game, plating a pair of runs in the second and took advantage of a two Bengal errors to add a third run in the bottom of the fourth. Buffalo State had five players with base hits, including a pair of hits in the seventh, advancing a runner to third for the first time in the game. A ground-ball double-play ended the Bengals' comeback hopes, however. Tricia Kennery (Williamsville/Williamsville North) took the loss on the mound, allowing five hits and three runs (two earned) in 3 1/3 innings of work. Rieman came on in relief and gave up just two hits in 2 2/3 innings.

Buffalo State will travel back to the Rochester-area on Wednesday for a non-conference doubleheader at RIT.
