Karen Shaddock (Corning/Corning East) led nine Buffalo State (5-3/1-0) scorers with six goals and three assists, as the Bengals overpowered host New Paltz (1-6/0-3), 20-5, today in their SUNYAC opener.
Kendyl Clarkson (Painted Post/Corning West) picked up three goals and four assists, and
Katie Henderson (Lakeview/Frontier) also had a strong offensive showing with three goals and a pair of assists.
Ashley Caporizzo (Liverpool/CNS) scored three times and set up another,
Brittany Nagowski (Lancaster/Lancaster) had a goal and three assists, and
Molly Seifritz (Syracuse/Henninger) had a goal and one assist.
Jen Tierney (Massapequa/Massapequa) and
Paige Ottaviano (Pt. Colborne, ON/Lakeshore Catholic) tallied one goal apiece, and
Caitlin Butler (E. Amherst/Williamsville South) also netted her first collegiate goal.
Buffalo State raced out to a 14-3 lead at the intermission, and coasted to the victory. The Bengals led in every statistical category, including a 28-13 advantage in shots.
Buffalo State will continue league play tomorrow at Oneonta at 11:30 a.m.
