Women’s Basketball Rolls Over Fredonia, 68-45

BUFFALO, NY—Buffalo State (6-5/1-4) never trailed and pulled away from visiting Fredonia (2-9/0-5) for its first SUNYAC win of the season, 68-45, tonight at the Sports Arena.

Staci McElroy (Saratoga Springs/Saratoga Springs) and Barb Kiliszek (Depew/Lancaster) led Buffalo State with 17 points each, and Kiliszek also had four assists and five steals. Kala Crawford (Middle Falls/Saratoga Springs) netted 11 points, and Sarah Thompson (Delmar/Bethlehem) had seven points and nine rebounds.

Buffalo State opened the game with an 11-2 run and never looked back. The Bengals led 34-22 at halftime, and continued to pull away in the second period. The Bengals owned the paint, outscoring Fredonia 44-26, and out-rebounding the Blue Devils, 48-39.

Buffalo State will next host Geneseo next Tuesday at 6 p.m.
