BUFFALO, NY—Nationally No. 1-ranked Oswego (16-2/9-0) controlled the bulk of play from the opening faceoff and skated to a 4-1 victory over host Buffalo State (8-8-2/4-3-2) in a SUNYAC game tonight at the Ice Arena.

Oswego netted the only goal of the first period before James Durham (Marilla/St. Francis) netted a shorthanded goal early in the second period to even the score at 1-1. Drew Klin (Lancaster/Lancaster) and John Corrigan (Wethersfield, CT/Wethersfield) picked up the assists. Oswego broke the tie with a pair of goals late in the second frame, however, and added an insurance marker in the third.

The Lakers held a 40-17 advantage in shots on goal, including a 21-7 edge in the second period. Kevin Carr (Unionville, ON/Unionville) made 36 saves to keep Buffalo State in the contest.

Buffalo State will host Cortland tomorrow at 7 p.m.
