POTSDAM, NY—Buffalo State (7-6/2-5) overcame a poor shooting night with strong rebounding and tight defense to defeat host Potsdam (2-12/1-6), 61-46, in a SUNYAC game this evening at Maxcy Hall.

Barb Kiliszek (Depew/Lancaster) led the Bengals with 12 points, and added four rebounds, six assists and five steals. Kristin Ritch (Dobbs Ferry/Dobbs Ferry) poured in 10 points, and Divine Sebuharara (Vestal/Vestal) added eight points and eight rebounds.

After overcoming and early deficit, Buffalo State took a 31-22 lead into the intermission and never trailed again. The Bengals pulled away in the final 20 minutes, leading by as many as 21 before coasting to the win. Buffalo State shot just 35-percent from the field, but forced 25 Potsdam turnovers and outrebounded the Bears, 43-33. The result was an extra 17 field goal attempts that the Bengals were able to convert into the 15-point difference.

Buffalo State will visit Plattsburgh tomorrow for a 2 p.m. tip-off.
