BRADFORD, Pa.—Barb Kiliszek (Depew/Lancaster) matched her career-high with 21 points and added eight rebounds to propel Buffalo State (5-3) to a successful start to 2011 with a 63-54 victory over host Pitt-Bradford (5-5) tonight at KOA Arena.

Kiliszek was 6 of 10 from the field, including 3 of 4 from 3-point range, and added three assists. Dee Layne (Brooklyn/E. NY Family) added 10 points, Staci McElroy (Saratoga Springs/Saratoga Springs) chipped in eight points, and Sarah Thompson (Delmar/Bethlehem) also had eight points in her first action of the season.

Buffalo State never trailed in the first half and held a narrow 28-26 lead at the intermission. The Panthers led by one on a pair of occasions early in the second period, before Buffalo Sate regained the lead and slowly pulled away for the win.

Buffalo State will return to SUNYAC play at New Paltz on Friday at 6 p.m.
