MORRISVILLE, NY—Trevor McKinney (Oakwood, ON/Sinclair) netted two goals and added an assist to lead Buffalo State (2-1/2-1) to a 7-2 victory over host Morrisville State (1-3/1-3) tonight in a SUNYAC game.

Mike Connolly (Shoreham, NY/Sault Area) also scored twice for the Bengals.  Justin Knee (Centralia, ON/South Huron) had a goal and two assists, and Jason Cleaver (York, PA/York) and Eric Bajc (Gasport, NY/Cedarcrest) chipped in a goal apiece. Matt Bessing (Elma, NY/Cheektowaga) and Zach Hale (Sandy, UT/Liberty) dished out two assists each.

Buffalo State struck first when Knee scored a power-play marker for the only goal of the first period.  McKinney added another power-play marker early in the second period, before Morrisville cut the deficit in half.  The Bengals took control from there, added three more goals in the second stanza, including back-to-back strikes by Connolly.  Knee netted his second of the game early in the third period.  The Mustangs potted their second goal midway through the third, but Bajc completed the scoring with just over four minutes remaining.

Kevin Carr (Unionville, ON/Unionville) made 31 saves between the pipes for the win as Buffalo State outshot Morrisville, 43-33.  The Bengals finished 3 for 8 with the man-advantage, and Morrisville was just 1 for 3 on the power play.

Buffalo State will play its first home game of the season next Friday when Potsdam visits the Ice Arena for a 7 p.m. start.
