BUFFALO, NY—Buffalo State (10-10-3/6-5-3) limited No. 9-ranked Plattsburgh (15-7-1/7-7) to just five third-period shots and held on for a 4-3 victory in a SUNYAC game tonight at the Ice Arena.

Anthony Orange's (Plainfield, IL/Plainfield South) first career goal held up as the game-winner for the Bengals. Shane Avery (Ft. Covington, NY/Salmon River), Trevor McKinney (Oakwood, ON/Sinclair) and Mac Balson (Lakefield, ON/Adam Scott CVI) also scored for Buffalo State. Nicholas Petriello (St. Catharines, ON/Holy Cross) picked up an assist and tied the school record with 131 career points.

The Bengals never trailed, trading goals with the Cardinals in the first period and took a 3-2 lead into the first intermission. Orange extended Buffalo State's lead to 4-2 in the second period before the Cardinals netted their third power-play goal late in the second to pull within one. The Bengals limited the Cardinals' scoring opportunities in the final period despite three power-play chances.

Plattsburgh outshot Buffalo State, 28-16. Kevin Carr (Unionville, ON/Unionville) made 25 saves for the Bengals. The Cardinals were 3 for 10 on the power-play, and Buffalo State was 1 for 5.

Buffalo State will host Potsdam tomorrow at 7 p.m. and celebrate senior night.
