Women’s Lax Trounces Allegheny, Shaddock Becomes All-Time Leading Scorer

Junior Karen Shaddock sits atop the school's all-time scoring list with 218 career points

ADRIAN, Mich.—Junior Karen Shaddock (Corning/Corning East) became Buffalo State's all-time leading scorer and the Bengals (2-0) blew past Allegheny (1-3), 17-4, at the Bulldog Invitational today at Adrian College.

Shaddock tallied four goals and an assist, brining her career point total to 218 (109 goals and 109 assists), passing Katie Henderson's previous school record of 215. Ashley Caporizzo (Liverpool/CNS) netted three goals and had two assists, and Kendyl Clarkson (Painted Post/Corning West) had two goals and four helpers to bolster the Bengals' attack. Molly Seifritz (Syracuse/Henninger) picked up a pair of goals, freshman Becca Martinez (Syracuse/Corcoran) had a goal and two assists, and Maria DeBolt (Waterloo/Waterloo) and Renee Glass (Scotia/Scotia-Glenville) also scored. Newcomers Jenn Shaddock (Corning/Corning East), Maggie Sharp (Airmont/Suffern) and Niki Paulhardt (Hanover, MN/Oswego) all added their first goals in the black and orange.

Buffalo State cruised to a 9-2 halftime advantage and continued to pull away over the final 30 minutes. Ashley O'Brien (Penfield/Honeoye Falls-Lima) made 11 stops between the pipes in the victory.

The Bengals will take on host Adrian tomorrow at 1 p.m.
