ADRIAN, Mich.—Karen Shaddock (Corning/Corning East) registered five goals and four assists to pace Buffalo State (3-0) to a convincing 19-11 victory over host Adrian (1-4) today to capture the title at the Bulldog Invitational.

Freshman Becca Martinez (Syracuse/Corcoran) also scored five time for the Bengals, and Ashley Caporizzo (Liverpool/CNS) scored three times. Maria DeBolt (Waterloo/Waterloo) chipped in a pair of goals, Molly Seifritz (Syracuse/Henninger) had a goal and two assists, and Kendyl Clarkson (Painted Post/Corning West) had a goal and an assist. Renee Glass (Scotia/Scotia-Glenville) and Jenn Shaddock (Corning/Corning East) also scored for Buffalo State.

Adrian scored first, but the Bengals bounced back with the next four and never trailed again. Buffalo State had a 7-5 advantage at the break and then pulled way, outscoring the Bulldogs, 12-6, in the second frame. Ashley O'Brien (Penfield/Honeoye Falls-Lima) made nine saves for Buffalo State, who outshot Adrian, 32-26.

Buffalo State will next play at St. John Fisher on Saturday at 1 p.m.
