CLERMONT, Fla.—Buffalo State (2-4) had 15 hits, but stranded 17 base runners, dropping a pair of games today at the US National Training Center, falling 5-3 to Williams (7-0) and 6-1 against the University of Chicago (7-5).

In the first game, the Bengals took a 3-2 lead in the third inning, but the Ephs came back with a pair of runs in the bottom of the fourth and added an insurance marker in the sixth. Freshman Jordan Dudish (Grand Island/Grand Island) led the Bengals' bats, going 3 for 4 with two runs scored. Kyrstin Lekki (N. Tonawanda/Niagara-Wheatfield) was 2 for 3 with an RBI, and Krista Baker (Dunkirk/Dunkirk) also collected a pair of hits. Sam Tilkins (Grand Island/Grand Island) allowed eight hits and four earned runs in the loss.

After scoring one run in the second inning, Chicago pulled away with three more runs in the fourth inning, and the Bengals could not cut the deficit, leaving nine runners on base. Seven different Bengals accounted for the Bengals seven hits, but a solo-homer by Julie Joyce (E. Pembroke/Pembroke) was the only one that did any damage. Kaylee Lekki (N. Tonawanda/Niagara-Wheatfield) suffered the loss, allowing seven hits and three earned runs in five innings of work.

After a day off in the sun, Buffalo State will return to the field on Sunday to face Cornell College (IA) and Tufts at 9:30 and 11:30 a.m. respectively.
