(GAME 1 BOX SCORE)
(GAME 2 BOX SCORE)

CLERMONT, Fla.—Buffalo State (2-6) scored 36 runs in its first six games, but failed to get its offense in gear today, scoring just once in two games today, falling 2-0 to Cornell College (IA) (7-2) and 9-1 against Tufts (7-7) at the US National Training Center.

Cornell scored two runs on two hits in the first inning of the second game to account for all of the offense in the game. Jordan Dudish (Grand Island/Grand Island) had a single in the third inning, which ended up being Buffalo State's only hit of the game. Sam Tilkins (Grand Island/Grand Island) took the hard-luck complete game loss, allowing just five hits.

The Bengals mustered just four hits in the late game, and Tufts racked up 14 hits and nine runs to run away with the game. The Jumbos jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the first and cruised to the win. Laken Pogorzelski (Dunkirk/Dunkirk) was 2 for 2 with a double and an RBI, and Breanna Fenski (Cheektowaga/Maryvale) had a double and the Bengals' only run. Kelly Homan (Shoreham/Shoreham Wading River) took the loss, allowing seven hits and four runs in 2 2/3 innings. Kaylee Lekki (N. Tonawanda/Niagara-Wheatfield) came on in relief, giving up seven hits and five runs the rest of the way.

Buffalo State will wrap up its spring trip tomorrow with a rematch against Cornell at 11:30 a.m., followed by a game against Franklin at 1:30 p.m.
