Karen Shaddock (Corning/Corning East) finished with a game-high eight assists and 10 different Bengals scored as Buffalo State (4-3) dominated host Occidental (3-6), 20-6, in a non-conference game today at Patterson Field.
Molly Seifritz (Liverpool/Henninger) had three goals and an assist.
Mariah DeBolt (Waterloo/Waterloo),
Maggie Sharp (Airmont/Suffern) and
Niki Paulhardt (Hanover, MN/Oswego) each had three goals, while
Jenn Shaddock (Corning/Corning East) and
Ashley Caporizzo (Liverool/Cicero-N. Syracuse) finished with two markers each.
Kendyl Clarkson (Painted Post/Corning West) and
Angela Sanita (Lancaster/Lancaster) had a goal and two helpers.
Brittany Nagowski (Lancaster/Lancaster) and
Renee Glass (Scotia/Scotia-Glenville) each scored once.
Buffalo State dominated play in the first half, holding the Tigers scoreless for the first 18 minutes and 20 seconds, to take a 12-1 lead into intermission. The Bengals outshot Occidental, 31-26 and were a perfect 4 for 4 on free-position shots.
Ashley O'Brien (Penfield/Honeoye Falls-Lima) had 10 saves to earn the win, while
Rachel Algbedo (Yonkers/Yonkers) stopped three shots in relief in her first collegiate game.
Buffalo State will wrap up its California trip Tuesday at Whittier at 7 p.m. (PST).
