BUFFALO, NY—Buffalo State (9-15/7-5) earned a pair of 5-4 walk-off victories over visiting Oneonta (16-13/7-5) today to climb the SUNYAC standings. The Bengals rallied from down 4-2 in the first game and 4-1 in the second before prevailing in eight innings.

Sara Morse (Painted Post/Corning West) was 4 for 4 with a double and an RBI and slid into home for the game-winning run on a wild pitch in the opener. The Bengals took a 2-1 lead in the second inning on a towering two-run homer by Julie Joyce (E. Pembroke/Pembroke), but Oneonta battled back and held a 4-2 lead heading into the bottom of the sixth inning. After the Bengals plated a run in the sixth, Morse tied the game with a double to center field that scored Joyce. Morse was still on second with two outs, until she advanced to third on a passed ball, and then scored when the next pitch bounced to the backstop. Lindsay Goff (Patterson/Brewster) was 2 for 3 with an RBI and a run scored. Aleesha Williams (Cheektowaga/Pioneer) earned her first collegiate win, pitching three innings of relief, allowing just one hit and two runs (one earned). Kaylee Lekki (N. Tonawanda/Niagara-Wheatfield) worked four innings in the start, giving up five hits and two runs with three strikeouts.

A pair of two-run homers in the fifth and sixth innings gave Oneonta a 4-1 lead in the nightcap. The Bengals battled back with a pair of runs in the sixth, before Kyrstin Lekki (N. Tonawanda/Niagara-Wheatfield) tied the game with a solo home run in the bottom of the seventh. Krista Baker (Dunkirk/Dunkirk) singled with one out in the eighth, before advancing to second on a sacrifice bunt by Goff. Then Joyce, who was 3 for 4 with two RBIs, singled to center to score the winning run. Baker was 2 for 3 with two runs scored, and Goff finished 2 for 2 with an RBI. Williams earned the win again in relief, allowing just one hit in 2 1/3 innings. Sam Tilkins (Grand Island/Grand Island) received no decision, throwing 5 2/3 innings, allowing six hits and four runs.

Buffalo State will host another SUNYAC twin bill tomorrow against New Paltz at 1 p.m.
