BUFFALO, NY-- Brockport (8-4/5-2) scored the first goal less than a minute into the game, but Buffalo State (11-4/6-1) scored 18 of the remaining 19 goals to sprint to an 18-2 victory in the Bengals' home finale this afternoon at Coyer Field.
Ashley O'Brien (Penfield/Honeoye Falls-Lima) made 12 saves, including seven in the second half, to hold Brockport scoreless over the 46 minutes and 43 seconds.
Kendyl Clarkson (Painted Post/Corning West) and
Karen Shaddock (Corning/Corning East) led Buffalo State's offense with 15 combined points. Clarkson had a goal and seven assists, while Shaddock netted three goals and had four assists.
Mariah DeBolt (Waterloo/Waterloo) tallied a team-high four goals, and
Jenn Shaddock (Corning/Corning East) added a goal and threeassists.
Maggie Sharp (Airmont/Suffern) also scored three times, and
Molly Seifritz (Syracuse/Henninger),
Ashley Caporizzo (Liverpool/CNS),
Brittany Nagowski (Lancaster/Lancaster),
Renee Glass (Scotia/Scotia-Glenville),
Becca Martinez (Syracuse/Corcoran),
Niki Paulhardt (Hanover, MN/Oswego) and
Kelsey Hodge (Clarence/Clarence) all had a goal apiece.
Buffalo State outshot the Golden Eagles 26-18 and held a slight 11-10 advantage in draw controls. The Bengals scored on their first 10 shots on goal of the game.
Buffalo State will conclude its regular season on Saturday at New Paltz.
