NEW PALTZ, NY--Buffalo State (12-4/7-1) shot out to a 13-1 lead and coasted to a 20-10 victory over host New Paltz (7-10/0-8) today in the regular season finale.

Karen Shaddock (Corning/Corning East) led the Bengals with five goals and five assists, and Molly Seifritz (Syracuse/Henninger) and Becca Martinez (Syracuse/Corcoran) netted four goals each. Ashley Caporizzo (Liverpool/CNS) added two goals and four assists, Mariah DeBolt (Waterloo/Waterloo) and Jenn Shaddock (Corning/Corning East) scored twice each, and Maggie Sharp (Airmont/Suffern) also scored.

Ashley O'Brien (Penfield/Honeoye Falls-Lima) had seven saves in goal for the Bengals. Buffalo State controlled play, outshooting the Hawks, 33-24, and had a 28-18 advantage in ground balls.

Buffalo State will enter the SUNYAC playoffs as the No. 2 seed and will face No. 3 Brockport in the semifinals next Friday at 3 p.m. at Cortland.
