OSWEGO, NY—After scoring just five runs in its previous seven games, Buffalo State (4-10/2-2) exploded for 30 runs in a doubleheader sweep at Oswego (5-14/1-7) today, winning 10-5 and 20-1 in five innings.

Buffalo State started the scoring frenzy in the top of the first inning of the first game, plating four runs on three hits, four walks and one hit batter. The Bengals did not look back from there, totaling 11 hits and walked a total of nine times. Sam Strapason (Williamsville/Williamsville North) led the Bengals' bats, going 3 for 5 with two RBIs and her first career home run. Kyrstin Lekki (N. Tonawanda/Niagara-Wheatfield) and Jordan Dudish (Grand Island/Grand Island) also both went 3 for 5, with Lekki adding a pair of RBIs. Kaylee Lekki (N. Tonawanda/Niagara-Wheatfield) earned her first collegiate win in the circle, allowing seven hits and just two earned runs to go with six strikeouts.

Buffalo State assembled two nine-run innings in the second and fifth to sprint to a 17-hit, 20-1 five-inning victory in the late game. Ten different Bengals had hits. Lindsay Goff (Patterson/Brewster) led the way, going 3 for 4 with a home run and five RBIs. Kyrstin Lekki was also 3 for 4 with a double, a homer and two RBIs. Breanna Fenski (Cheektowaga/Maryvale) went 2 for 3 with a double and three RBIs, and Samantha Lafer (Chenango Bridge/Chenango Valley) was 2 for 2 with a double and an RBI. Sam Tilkins (Grand Island/Grand Island) allowed just three hits to earn her third win of the season on the mound.

Buffalo State will next host the University of Rochester in a non-conference twin bill on Tuesday at 3 p.m.
