BUFFALO, NY—Brockport's Ian Finnerty (Ardmore, PA) notched the game-winning goal late in the third period as Brockport (7-10-2/3-6-1) defeated host Buffalo State (9-8-2/5-4-1), 4-2, in a SUNYAC game tonight at the Ice Arena.

Drew Klin (Lancaster, NY/Lancaster) and Nick Melligan (Sanborn, NY/Niagara-Wheatfield) each scored for Buffalo State.  Trevor McKinney (Oakwood, ON/Sinclair), Daniel Andersson (Kungsbacka, Sweden/Aranas Gymnasiet) and Justin Knee (Centralia, ON/South Huron) all had one assist apiece.

Finnerty and James Cody (Schwenksville, PA) each had a goal and two assists for Brockport, while Chris Cangro (Holbrook, NY) and Brendon Rothfuss (Webster, NY) also scored.

After trading goals in the first period, the Golden Eagles scored a single marker in the second to take a 2-1 lead into the intermission.  The Bengals knotted the game at 2-2 on the power play at 6:42 of the third stanza, before Finnerty recorded the game winner.  Brockport added an insurance marker with an empty-net goal to close out all scoring.

Buffalo State managed 32 shots to Brockport's 34.  Aaron Green (Mt. Albert, ON) had 30 saves for the Golden Eagles for his third win of the season, while Kevin Carr (Unionville, ON/Unionville) also recorded 30 stops for the Bengals.

Buffalo State will honor its seniors when it hosts Morrisville next Saturday at 7 p.m.
