Box Score BUFFALO, NY—Sophomore Olivia Luciani (Syracuse/E. Syracuse Minoa) netted a career-high 21 points to pace visiting Buffalo State (2-1) to a 69-56 victory over cross-town rival D'Youville (1-3) this evening in a non-conference clash.  

Luciani hit 6 of 10 from the field, including 5 of 8 of 3-point range, and added four assists.  Bianca Smiley (Amherst/Sweet Home) registered a double-double with 19 points and 14 rebounds to go with four steals, and Ashley Wallace (Lockport/Starpoint) had 12 points and 11 boards.

Buffalo State led just 29-27 at the intermission, but the Bengals scored the first nine points to stretch the lead.  The Spartans battled back and evened the score at 49-49 with less than seven minutes remaining, but Buffalo State assembled another late run to pull away for the win. 

Buffalo State outrebounded the Spartans, 48-29, and the Bengals' bench outscored D'Youville, 28-0.

Buffalo State will host Medaille in another non-conference matchup on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
