Box Score (BOX SCORE)

BUFFALO, NY—Hamilton (1-2) attempted nearly twice as many shots at Buffalo State (4-0), but freshman Colleen George (Johnson City/Maine-Endwell) made 13 saves to backstop the host Bengals to a 13-12 victory over the No. 10-ranked Continentals in a non-conference battle today at Coyer Field.

Mariah DeBolt (Waterloo/Waterloo) and Ashley Caporizzo (Liverpool/CNS) netted four goals apiece to lead Buffalo State's offense.  DeBolt also surpassed the 100-career point plateau.  Kendyl Clarkson (Painted Post/Corning West) had a game-high seven points on two goals and five assists.  Karen Shaddock (Corning/Corning East) chipped in two goals and two assists, and Becca Martinez (Syracuse/Corcoran) had a goal and an assist.

Hamilton raced out to a 3-0 lead less than eight minutes into the contest, but the Bengals roared back with the next four goals and six of the next seven.  Buffalo State never relinquished the lead the rest of the way.  After taking a 9-6 advantage into the intermission and retained the three-goal edge at 13-10 in the final minutes.  The Continentals made things interesting, scoring with 3:55 remaining and then again with 1:29 left, but committed a costly unforced turnover in the closing seconds.

Hamilton outshot Buffalo State, 36-19.  The Continentals also held a 17-10 edge in draw controls.

Buffalo State will fly to Florida tomorrow for its four-game spring trip.  The Bengals will open play at the USA National Training Center in Clermont, Fla. on Sunday against Colby at 7 p.m.
