CLERMONT, Fla.—Buffalo State's (2-0) bats were alive and well after a winter slumber, producing 20 runs in the first two games of the season today at Hancock Park in Clermont, Fla., as the Bengals defeated Trinity (Ct.) (2-2), 9-5, and topped Concordia (Wisc.) (2-6), 11-6, in the late game.

Buffalo State was locked in a 4-4 tie in the sixth inning against Trinity, before exploding for five runs in the bottom of the frame to pull away for the win.  Aleesha Williams (Cheektowaga/Pioneer) was the winning pitcher, allowing seven hits with two strikeouts, and was 1 for 2 with an RBI at the plate.  Marcella Ossa (Williamsville/Clarence) went 2 for 3 with two doubles and an RBI, and Lindsay Goff (Patterson/Brewster) was 2 for 4 with a double and two RBIs.

A late explosion catapulted the Bengals to another win against Concordia, as Buffalo State broke a 6-6 tie with five runs in the top of the seventh.  Goff finished 3 for 4 with two RBIs, and Williams was 2 for 4 with a double and four RBIs.  Maddie Coneys (Clifton Park/Catholic Central) earned her first collegiate win, allowing just five hits and two runs in 5 2/3 innings of relief. 

Buffalo State will play again tomorrow morning against Wisconsin-Eau Claire and Fontbonne at 9 and 11 a.m. respectively.
