CLERMONT, Fla.—Buffalo State (3-1) suffered its first loss of the season, falling 3-1 against No. 15-ranked Wisconsin-Eau Claire (5-1) this morning, but responded with an 8-6 win over Fontbonne (2-3) in today's second game at the USA National Training Center.

Buffalo State could only come up with two hits in a 3-1 loss to Eau Claire in this morning's first game.  The Bengals evened the score at 1-1 on an RBI by Kyrstin Lekki (N. Tonawanda/Niagara-Wheatfield) that scored and Lindsay Goff (Patterson/Brewster) who singled and advanced to third on a passed ball and wild pitch.  Eau Claire capitalized on two hits and two errors in the fourth to plate the game's final two runs to earn the win.  Aleesha Williams (Cheektowaga/Pioneer) was charged with the loss, despite allowing just six hits and one earned run in six innings of work.

Fontbonne jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the first three innings in the second game, but the Bengals roared back with seven runs in the fourth and added one more in the seventh to steal the victory.  Lekki finished 3 for 4 with a double and a run scored, and Shelly Maggard (Niagara Falls/Niagara-Wheatfield) was 2 for 3 with a triple and three RBIs.  Maddie Coneys (Clifton Park/Catholic Central) picked up her second win in as many days, setting in after a rocky start, allowing 11 hits and three earned runs to go with five strikeouts.

Buffalo State will play at the National Training Center again tomorrow at 9 and 11 a.m. against the University of Chicago and Eastern Connecticut respectively.
