CLERMONT, Fla.— Karen Shaddock (Corning/Corning East) became the all-time leader in career goals as Buffalo State (6-2) defeated Union (0-4), 18-12, this morning at the National Training Center in Clermont, Fla.

Shaddock led the Bengals with four goals and six assists, bringing her career goal total to 189, surpassing former teammate, Katie Henderson.  Kendyl Clarkson (Painted Post/Corning West) finished with five goals and two assists.  Mariah DeBolt (Waterloo/Waterloo), Meghan Farrell (Endicott/Union Endicott) and Becca Martinez (Syracuse/Corcoran) all had two goals.  Ashley Caporizzo (Liverpool/Cicero-N. Syracuse) recorded one goal and an assist, while Jenn Shaddock (Corning/Corning East) and Niki Paulhardt (Hanover, MN/Oswego) had one goal apiece.

The game was tied three times in the first half, with Buffalo State taking a 9-7 lead into halftime.  The Bengals broke the game open in the second half, scoring six goals in a 10 minute span to lead 18-11.  Union netted the last goal of the game to complete all scoring.

Both teams finished with 17 ground balls, but Buffalo State led in draw controls, 18-14, and shots, 27-21.  The Dutchwomen committed 20 turnovers compared to 19 by the Bengals.

Colleen George (Johnson City/Maine-Endwell) recorded five saves on 17 shots on goal to get the win in net.

The Bengals wrapped up their Spring Trip with a 2-2 record and return home to host Ithaca Wednesday at 4 p.m.
