CORNING, NY— Karen Shaddock (Corning/Corning East) tallied eight goals and two assists in front of her hometown supporters as Buffalo State (1-0) cruised to a convincing 19-5 victory over Elmira (1-1) in a non-conference game today at Corning High School.

Kendyl Clarkson (Painted Post/Corning West) bolstered the Bengals' attack with three goals and seven assists.  Mariah DeBolt (Waterloo/Waterloo) added four goals, Ashley Caporizzo (Liverpool/CNS) scored twice, and Niki Paulhardt (Hanover, MN/Oswego) and Becca Martinez (Syracuse/Corcoran) netted a goal apiece. 

Buffalo State scored the game's first five goals and led 11-4 at the intermission.  The Bengals outscored the Soaring Eagles 8-1 in the second half, including scoring the game's final four goals. 

Buffalo State held a 32-13 advantage in shots and forced 27 Elmira turnovers, compared to committing just 16.  The Bengals also held a commanding 18-7 edge in draw controls.

Colleen George (Johnson City/Maine-Endwell) allowed four goals on seven shots in the first half for the Bengals.  Adi DiDuro (Geneva/Geneva) played the second half and allowed one goal and made two saves.

Buffalo State will open its home schedule this Thursday against Roberts Wesleyan at 4 p.m.
