ONEONTA, NY—Oneonta (7-0/1-0) scored twice in the first 44 seconds and cruised to an 18-9 victory over visiting Buffalo State (7-3/0-1) this afternoon in the SUNYAC season opener.

Kendyl Clarkson (Painted Post/Corning West) led Buffalo State with three goals and an assist.  Karen Shaddock (Corning/Corning East) also scored three goals, Ashley Caporizzo (Liverpool/CNS) netted two, and Mariah DeBolt (Waterloo/Waterloo) chipped in a single marker.

The Red Dragons scored 18 seconds into the game and pushed it to 2-0 just 26 seconds later.  Oneonta then led 11-6 at the intermission and continued to pull away in the second half.  The Red Dragons finished the game with a 43-19 advantage in shots.  Oneonta also held an edge in draw controls at 20-9 and ground balls at 23-17.

Buffalo State will look to get back on track with another road SUNYAC game on Tuesday at Oswego at 4 p.m.
