Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 ONEONTA, NY—Buffalo State (15-11/8-4) used a four-run seventh inning to take the opening game 4-3, and completed the sweep, defeating host Oneonta (7-17/2-8), 8-7, in today's late game.

Buffalo State trailed 3-0 entering the seventh inning in the opener, but plated four runs, including three with two outs in the final frame to claw its way to victory. Shelly Maggard (Niagara Falls/Niagara-Wheatfield) doubled with one away and then Lindsay Goff (Patterson/Brewster) ripped an RBI single.  Then with two outs, the Bengals put two on base after a fielding error.  Breanna Fenski (Cheektowaga/Maryvale) roped a triple to left center to score a pair of runs to tie the game.  Aleesha Williams (Cheektowaga/Pioneer) singled down the leftfield line to put Buffalo State ahead, and the Bengals were able to shut the Red Dragons down in the bottom of the stanza to preserve the win.  Fenski and Williams each finished 3 for 4. Williams started the game in the circle, tossing five innings, allowing eight hits and three runs. Kaylee Lekki (N. Tonawanda/Niagara-Wheatfield) earned the win, tossing two innings of scoreless relief.

The Bengals jumped out to an 8-2 lead in the second game and held on for the win, despite committing four errors and giving up 12 hits.  Kyrstin Lekki (N. Tonawanda/Niagara-Wheatfield) paced the Bengals' bats going 3 for 4 with three doubles, and Fenski was 2 for 3 with a double and three RBIs.  Taylor Swiatek (East Aurora/Orchard Park) and Marcella Ossa (Williamsville/Clarence) added two hits and an RBI apiece. Maddie Coneys (Clifton Park/Catholic Central) battled to the win, striking out five in the complete game effort.

Buffalo State will next host a non-conference doubleheader against Penn State Behrend on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.
