Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 BUFFALO, NY—Buffalo State (17-13/9-5) and Fredonia (15-13-1/6-8) splashed their way to a split today in cold and rainy weather, combining for 13 walks, eight wild pitches and four hit batters.  Buffalo State won the opener 4-0, before dropping the late game 10-1 in five innings.

Buffalo State made the most of just five hits in the opener.  Lindsay Goff (Patterson/Brewster) hit an RBI double in the third to open the scoring and then Kyrstin Lekki (N. Tonawanda/Niagara-Wheatfield) drove her in with a single.  The Bengals completed the scoring with a two-run blast to right center by Breanna Fenski (Cheektowaga/Maryvale) in the sixth.  Aleesha Williams (Cheektowaga/Pioneer) tossed the complete-game shutout, allowing just six hits with two strikeouts.

In the late game, the Blue Devils plated 10 runs on just seven hits, capitalizing on seven free passes and five wild pitches.  Lekki led the Bengals at the plate collecting all but one of the team's four hits, going 3 for 3 with two doubles and drove in Buffalo State's only run.  Lekki now has 18 doubles this year, tying the school's single-season record.  Ashley LaPorta (Buffalo/Mt. St. Mary) earned the win for Fredonia, pitching the final 3 1/3 innings in relief, allowing just three hits with three strikeouts.  Erica Hines (Falconer/Falconer) led Fredonia at the plate, going 3 for 3 with a double, an RBI and a run scored. 

Buffalo State will play a non-conference doubleheader tomorrow at Ithaca at 1 p.m.
