BUFFALO, NY— Karen Shaddock (Corning/Corning East), Kendyl Clarkson (Painted Post/Corning West) and Mariah DeBolt (Waterloo/Waterloo) led the offensive attack as Buffalo State (10-5/3-3) pounded visiting Potsdam (4-10/1-6), 16-4, in cold and wet conditions this afternoon at Coyer Field.

Shaddock recorded eight goals on eight shots and added one assist to finish the game with nine points.  Clarkson had one goal and a game-high seven assists, while DeBolt posted three goals and a helper.  Ashley Caporizzo (Liverpool/Cicero-N. Syracuse) had two goals and two assists, Jenn Shaddock (Corning/Corning East) and Meghan Farrell (Endicott/Union Endicott) had one goal each and Becca Martinez (Syracuse/Corcoran) added one assist.

Buffalo State struck first, scoring 40 seconds into the game before the Bears tied it at 24:42 on the free-position.  The Bengals took control and recorded the next eight goals to take a 9-1 lead into halftime.  Buffalo State tacked on five more goals in the second half, before the Bears scored three unanswered in a six-minute span to cut the deficit to 10, but the Bengals would tally the final two goals of the game.

Buffalo State outshot Potsdam, 29-11, and held a 19-13 advantage in ground balls.  The Bears committed 26 turnovers, compared to the Bengals' 18.  Colleen George (Johnson City/Maine-Endwell) made three saves to earn the win. 

Prior to the game, Buffalo State honored seniors Jamie Handley (Auburn/Auburn), Brittany Nagowski (Lancaster/Lancaster), Renee Glass (Scotia/Scotia-Glenville) and Paige Ottaviano (Port Colborne, ON/Lakeshore Catholic), DeBolt, Clarkson and Shaddock for their career accomplishments.

Buffalo State will travel to Brockport for another SUNYAC game on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
