Box Score OSWEGO, NY—Buffalo State (6-7/2-4) played 40 minutes of stifling defense, handing Oswego (11-2/5-1) its first SUNYAC loss of the season today, 62-38, limiting the host Lakers to just 27-percent shooting and forcing 22 turnovers.
Bianca Smiley (Amherst/Sweet Home) led the Bengals's offense with 19 points, while
Shay Jackson (Syracuse/Henninger) netted 15 points to go with 11 rebounds.
Ashley Wallace (Lockport/Starpoint) added 12 points and eight rebounds, and
Kelly Kell (Port Ewen/Kingston) had seven assists and two steals.
The Bengals used an early 14-0 run to take a lead they would never surrender. Buffalo State carried a 35-23 advantage into the intermission and continued to pull away in the second stanza. Buffalo State outrebounded the Lakers 42-28 for the game. The Bengals shot 43-percent from the field for the game.
Buffalo State will next host Geneseo on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
