GENESEO, NY—Buffalo State (9-8-2/4-5-1) saw its six-game unbeaten streak come to an end with a hard-fought 2-1 loss at Geneseo (12-5-1/8-1-1) tonight in a SUNYAC contest.

Kevin Carr (Uniondale, ON/Uniondale) continued his strong play, allowing just two goals on 37 shots, but Buffalo State's offense was unable to break through until the closing seconds of the game. 

Geneseo opened the scoring with 3:38 remaining in the second period and then added a power-play tally early in the third to extend its lead.  Mike Zannella (Ithaca, NY/Ithaca) finally got the Bengals on the board with just three seconds remaining, but it was too little, too late.  Zannella's 14th goal of the season was assisted by Justin Knee (Centralia, ON/S. Huron) and Nick Melligan (Sanborn/Niagara-Wheatfield).

Geneseo outshot Buffalo State, 37-31, and the Knights finished 1 for 3 with on the power play.  Buffalo State was 0 for 3 with the man advantage.

Buffalo State will next travel to Morrisville State next Friday at 7 p.m.
