Box Score BUFFALO, NY— Bianca Smiley (Amherst/Sweet Home) had a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds to help lift Buffalo State (4-0/1-0) to a 58-52 victory over visiting Oneonta (4-2/0-1) in tonight's SUNYAC opener at the Sports Arena.

Smiley finished 6 for 12 from the field and added five steals. Olivia Luciani (Syracuse/E. Syracuse Minoa) poured in a team-high 15 points to lead the Bengals' offense, and Ashley Wallace (Lockport/Starpoint) added 14 points.

After five early lead changes, Buffalo State took a lead it would never relinquish midway through the first half. The Bengals took a 31-21 lead into the intermission. Oneonta cut the deficit to 47-43 with seven minutes remaining, but could not pull any closer.

Oneonta outrebounded Buffalo State 42-34, but the Bengals committed just 10 turnover, compared to 15 by the Red Dragons. Buffalo State also outscored Oneonta 11-5 at the free-throw line.

Buffalo State will host New Paltz in another SUNYAC game tomorrow at 2 p.m.
