Box Score BUFFALO, NY— Bianca Smiley (Amherst/Sweet Home) poured in 26 points and had a career-best 16 rebounds to lead Buffalo State (5-0/2-0) to a convincing 84-60 victory over visiting New Paltz (2-6/0-2) in a SUNYAC contest this afternoon at the Sports Arena.

Staci McElroy (Saratoga Springs/Saratoga Springs) bolstered the Bengals' attack with 22 points and pulled down seven rebounds, while Ashley Wallace (Lockport/Starpoint) chipped in seven points and 11 boards.

The Bengals used a 15-3 run midway through the opening half and pulled away for the victory. After leading 37-24 at the intermission, the Bengals never let the Hawks get any closer in the second half.

Buffalo State shot 46-percent from the field, while New Paltz shot just 31-percent. The Hawks were 5 of 21 from 3-point range, and just 15 of 32 at the free-throw line. The Bengals were 20 of 28 at the charity stripe and outscored the Hawks 46-14 in the paint.

Buffalo State will next play a non-conference game at the University of Rochester on Friday.
