Box Score BUFFALO, NY—Buffalo State (4-0) used a balanced offensive attack to remain unbeaten with a 14-1 victory over visiting Oberlin (1-3) today at a frigid Coyer Field.
Niki Paulhardt (Hanover, MN/Oswego) and
Sarah Kirchberger (Buffalo/W. Seneca West) led Buffalo State with three goals and an assist each.
Renee Glass (Scotia/Scotia-Glenville) and
Jenn Shaddock (Corning/Corning East) each tallied two goals and an assist, and
Becca Martinez (Syracuse/Corcoran),
Ashley Caporizzo (Liverpool/CNS),
Kimberlee Carr (Albany/Colonie) and
Kendra Thomas (Painted Post/Corning West) chipped in a goal apiece. For Carr and Thomas, they were the first goals of their collegiate careers.
After taking an early 4-1 lead, Buffalo State scored the final 10 goals of the contest to post the convincing victory. The Bengals dominated nearly every stat category, including holding a 31-8 advantage in shots, a 14-3 margin in draw controls and a 24-15 edge in ground balls.
Colleen George (Johnson City/Maine-Endwell) surrendered just one goal while making five saves.
Buffalo State will visit No. 15 Ithaca on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
