Women’s Lacrosse Remains Undefeated, Freezes Oberlin, 14-1

Sophomore Kendra Thomas netted her first collegiate goal
Box Score BUFFALO, NY—Buffalo State (4-0) used a balanced offensive attack to remain unbeaten with a 14-1 victory over visiting Oberlin (1-3) today at a frigid Coyer Field.

Niki Paulhardt (Hanover, MN/Oswego) and Sarah Kirchberger (Buffalo/W. Seneca West) led Buffalo State with three goals and an assist each.  Renee Glass (Scotia/Scotia-Glenville) and Jenn Shaddock (Corning/Corning East) each tallied two goals and an assist, and Becca Martinez (Syracuse/Corcoran), Ashley Caporizzo (Liverpool/CNS), Kimberlee Carr (Albany/Colonie) and Kendra Thomas (Painted Post/Corning West) chipped in a goal apiece.  For Carr and Thomas, they were the first goals of their collegiate careers.

After taking an early 4-1 lead, Buffalo State scored the final 10 goals of the contest to post the convincing victory.  The Bengals dominated nearly every stat category, including holding a 31-8 advantage in shots, a 14-3 margin in draw controls and a 24-15 edge in ground balls. Colleen George (Johnson City/Maine-Endwell) surrendered just one goal while making five saves.

Buffalo State will visit No. 15 Ithaca on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
