Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 CLERMONT, Fla.—Buffalo State (3-3) continued to swing the bats well, converting 20 hits into 15 runs in a two-game split today, defeating MIT (2-4), 10-5, before falling to Fontbonne (7-7), 9-5, at the US National Training Center.

MIT jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first inning of the opening game, but Buffalo State built a 5-3 lead by the end of the third inning, and then put the game away with a four-run seventh.  Breanna Fenski (Cheektowaga/Maryvale) led the Bengals' offense, going 2 for 4 with a triple, two RBIs and three runs scored.  Sam Strapason (Williamsville/Williamsville South) and Brieanna Brink (Kenmore/Sacred Heart) had two hits each, and Lindsay Goff (Patterson/Brewster) had a triple and four RBIs.

Freshman Kelsi Leo (Niagara Falls/Niagara Falls) earned her first collegiate win, pitching 4 2/3 innings of relief, scattering seven hits while allowing three runs.  Maddie Coneys (Clifton Park/Catholic Central) earned the save, throwing the final two innings of scoreless relief.

Neither team scored a run in the first three innings of the second game, but combined to plate 14 runs in the final four frames.  Buffalo State jumped out to a 5-2 lead through five innings, but Fontbonne erupted to score three in the sixth and four more in the seventh. 

Brink paced the Bengals' bats, going 3 for 3 with a triple and a pair of RBIs.  Taylor Swiatek (Orchard Park/Orchard Park) was 2 for 4 with a double and two runs scored, and Stephanie Novo (Cheektowaga/Depew) had a single and two RBIs.  Coneys went the distance in the circle, surrendering 11 hits and six earned runs.

Buffalo State will play two more game tomorrow against No. 7 Luther at 9 a.m. and the University of Chicago at 11 a.m.
