Box Score NEW PALTZ, NY—Buffalo State (6-3/1-0) netted the first eight goals of the game and never looked back, defeating host New Paltz (3-2/0-1), 13-5, in today's SUNYAC opener.

Ashley Caporizzo (Liverpool/CNS) had a team-best seven points and three goals and four assists for Buffalo State.  Sarah Kirchberger (Buffalo/W. Seneca West) added four goals, and Niki Paulhardt (Hanover, MN/Oswego), Becca Martinez (Syracuse/Corcoran) and Meghan Farrell (Endicott/Union-Endicott) netted two goals apiece.

Buffalo State jumped out to an 8-0 lead before the Hawks finally got on the scoreboard with just 17 seconds remaining in the first half.  The Bengals scored the first two goals of the second half as well and coasted to the win.

The team statistics were not as lopsided as the final score as shots finished even at 28-28, and Buffalo State held a slight edge in draw controls (11-9) and in ground balls (22-21).

Adelena DiDuro (Geneva/Geneva) surrendered just one goal while making four saves in the first half, and Colleen George (Johnson City/Maine-Endwell) played the final 30 minutes, making 11 saves while conceding four goals.

Buffalo State will host Brockport for a conference clash on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
