Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 FREDONIA, NY—Buffalo State (12-12/6-4) continued to put its explosive offense on display, earning a SUNYAC doubleheader sweep at Fredonia (5-16/2-8) today, winning 7-1 and 13-5 in five innings.

Fredonia loaded the bases with no outs in the opener, but only pushed one run across on a sacrifice fly.  The Bengals took control from there, scoring runs in the third and fourth innings before putting the game out of reach with five more in the sixth.

Taylor Swiatek (Orchard Park/Orchard Park) went 3 for 4 with an RBI and a run scored to lead the Bengals' bats.  Stephanie Novo (Cheektowga/Depew) was 2 for 4 with two RBIs and a run scored, and Maddie Coneys (Clifton Park/Catholic Central) earned her sixth win of the season scattering just five hits with five strikeouts in the complete-game effort.

Buffalo State wasted no time going on top in the night cap, scoring six runs in the first inning.  The Bengals allowed the Blue Devils to make things interesting, however, as Fredonia took advantage of four Buffalo State errors and closed to score three runs in the bottom of the first and then cut the deficit to 6-5 in the third.  The Bengals ended the game with a seven-hit, seven-run fifth inning, however.

The Bengals finished with 11 hits, compared to seven by Fredonia.  Swiatek stayed hot, as she and Carly Knight (Lewiston/Lewiston-Porter) each went 2 for 3 with two RBIs and two runs.  Breanna Fenski (Cheektowaga/Maryvale) also had a pair of hits, and Shelly Maggard (Niagara Falls/Niagara-Wheatfield) had a double and two RBIs.  Coneys pitched her second win of the day, allowing just one earned run in the abbreviated complete game.

Buffalo State will play a non-conference doubleheader at Penn State Behrend on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.
