Maddie Coneys suffered two losses despite allowing just eight hits and two earned runs in 10 innings of work
Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 PLATTSBURGH, NY—Buffalo State (12-18/6-10) committed seven errors in two games that led to a pair of critical Plattsburgh (21-11/11-5) in a SUNYAC doubleheader today.  The Cardinals claimed the first game 2-0, and was the night cap 5-3.

The Cardinals converted a pair of first-inning errors by Buffalo State in the opening game into an early 2-0 lead and neither team could muster any offense the rest of the way.  The Bengals finished with just three hits.  Maddie Coneys (Clifton Park/Catholic Central) was in the circle for the hard luck loss, allowing just three hits with five strikeouts and no earned runs.

Buffalo State led 3-2 in the fifth inning of game two, but defensive miscues did the Bengals in again.  Two more errors led to a three-run inning by Plattsburgh that erased the deficit and gave the Cardinals a lead they would not surrender.

Stephanie Novo (Cheektowaga/Depew) finished 3 for 3 with a double and an RBI for the Bengals, and Breanna Fenski (Cheektowaga/Maryvale) was 3 for 4 with an RBI.  Coneys was dealt the loss again, allowing just five hits and two earned runs in four innings.  Sam Tilkins (Grand Island/Grand Island) pitched the final two innings, without allowing a hit.

Buffalo State will conclude the SUNYAC regular season with two games tomorrow at Potsdam starting at noon.  The Bengals must win both games and hope Brockport sweeps Oswego to earn a spot in the SUNYAC playoffs.
