Box Score BUFFALO, NY— Oneonta (6-5/1-2) scored nine of the game's final 11 goals to erase an early deficit and claim a 13-10 victory over host Buffalo State (6-5/1-2) in a SUNYAC contest today at Coyer Field.
Becca Martinez (Syracuse/Corcoran) netted five goals to lead Buffalo State, and
Ashley Caporizzo (Liverpool/CNS) had two goals and an assist.
Meghan Farrell (Endicott/Union-Endicott),
Sarah Kirchberger (Buffalo/W. Seneca West), and
Niki Paulhardt (Hanover, MN/Oswego) chipped in one goal each for the Bengals.
Oneonta led 1-0 and 2-1 early, but Buffalo State put together a 5-1 run to build and 8-4 advantage late in the first half. The Red Dragons netted two goals late in the opening period, including one with seven seconds remaining to cut the deficit to 8-6 at the intermission. Oneonta took control in the second half, outscoring Buffalo State 7-2, including the first three goals of the period to erase the deficit.
Buffalo State held a 27-22 advantage in shots, but Oneonta had the edge in shots on goal at 18-14.
Colleen George (Johnson City/Maine-Endwell) surrendered 12 goals, while making four saves in 52 minutes for the Bengals.
Adelena DiDuro (Geneva/Geneva) conceded one goal and made one save in relief.
Buffalo State will host Oswego in another SUNYAC game on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
