Box Score BUFFALO, NY— Nick Berst (Depew, NY/Lancaster) scored twice and Buffalo State (8-8-3/5-3-2) rallied from a two-goal deficit to defeat Cortland (4-12-2/3-6-1), 5-2, in a SUNYAC game tonight at the Ice Arena.

Mike Zannella (Ithaca, NY/Ithaca) finished with a goal and an assist, while Taylor Pryce (Newmarket, ON/Cardinal Carter) and Kyle Whipple (Tonawanda, NY/Kenmore West) also scored for the Bengals. Brett Hope (Blenheim, ON/Blenehim), Dan Turgeon (Centennial, CO/Cherokee Trail) and Jake Rosen (East Amherst, NY/Williamsville North) each had two assists apiece.

The Red Dragons struck first, scoring just one minute and 33 seconds into the game and added another on the power play at 8:01 to take a 2-0 lead midway through the first period. The Bengals responded with three goals of their own in the first, including the game-winner by Pryce at the 12:31 mark. Buffalo State also scored one goal in the second and third periods, respectively, to close out all scoring.

Cortland held a slim, 27-26, advantage in shots and finished 1 for 7 with the man advantage. Buffalo State was 0 for 3 on the power play and Kevin Carr (Unionville, ON/Unionville) had 25 saves for his eighth win of the season.

Buffalo State will host nationally-ranked Oswego in another SUNYAC game tomorrow at 7 p.m.
