Box Score BUFFALO, NY— Kevin Carr (Unionville, ON/Unionville) made 33 saves and Buffalo State (9-8-3/6-3-2) netted four second-period goals to celebrate "senior night" with a 4-0 upset win over visiting No. 11 Oswego (12-4-2/5-3-1) in a SUNYAC game tonight at the Ice Arena. It was the first-ever victory for the Bengals over Oswego in 43 tries.

Dan Turgeon (Centennial, CO/Cherokee Trail) had a goal and two assists, and senior Mike Zannella (Ithaca, NY/Ithaca) added a goal and a helper to pace the Buffalo State offense.

The Bengals opened the scoring with a breakaway goal by Kyle Whipple (Tonawanda, NY/Kenmore West) early in the second period. Then, after killing a major penalty that included more than a minute of 5-on-3, the Bengals opened the floodgates with three goals in a span of three minutes and 53 seconds. Zannella and Taylor McGraw (N. Lawrence, NY/St. Lawrence) each netted power-play markers, with Taylor Pryce (Newmarket, ON/Cardinal Carter) drawing assists on both. Turgeon buried a breakaway for his team-best 10th of the season with just 26 seconds remaining in the frame to complete the scoring barrage.

Although Oswego outshot Buffalo State 12-2 in the third period, the Bengals controlled much of the play and limited the Lakers' quality scoring chances. Buffalo State killed off all three Oswego power plays on the night, including one in the final frame, when Carr made several key saves.

The Lakers finished with a 33-22 advantage in shots. Buffalo State was 2 for 4 on the power play.

Buffalo State will play its final five regular season games on the road, starting at Potsdam on Friday, Feb. 7 at 7 p.m.
